The historic Sonoma Plaza offers the perfect setting for many annual events during the long summer months. The 8-1/2 acre city park, complete with duck pond, fountain, meandering pathways, and lawns is the setting for art, craft, wine, and food booths on summer festival weekends. The Ox Roast is held on the first Sunday in June. Fourth of July features a traditional parade and pyrotechnic extravaganza. Salute to the Arts is the premier art event of each season, and Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival celebrates the harvest on the last weekend in September. Music in the Plaza's open-air amphitheater is the perfect setting for summer weekends and weekday evenings. The Sonoma Valley Jazz Society can usually be heard on Farmers' Market Tuesdays.
